Salamanca's city general election is set for Tuesday, with the mayor's office and seats on the Common Council on the ballot. Former mayor Michael "Smitty" Smith is seeking a return to the mayor's office and is backed by five aldermanic candidates running on the "Salamanca Proud" line. The incumbent mayor and four of the five current aldermen are also asking voters for another term. Both camps have been laying out their records and priorities in the final days before the vote.
