At the Village of Delevan Board of Trustees' June 2 meeting, resident Rose Dodge pressed board members over the cancellation of the summer recreation program without input from residents and families. Village officials clarified that the decision was actually made by the Town of Yorkshire rather than the village itself, and Village Treasurer Chris Edmunds said officials were already working on revamping the program for next year, though she said she was unable to discuss the specific reasons behind the cancellation. In other business, the board approved an intermunicipal wastewater treatment agreement with the Village of Arcade and reimbursed residents for 179 garbage stickers.
Bolivar/Schools
Jostens named Bolivar-Richburg Central School's yearbook a 2026 National Yearbook Program of Excellence honoree at the Gold Level, recognizing student publications that engage a broad cross-section of the student body. The staff's book included more than 1,500 photographs and represented over 90 percent of students in grades 6 through 12. Co-advisors Mary Hirsch-Schena and Kelly Smith presented the award to students during an end-of-year assembly at the school, located at 100 School Street in Bolivar. Hirsch-Schena said the staff worked together to produce a book that "perfectly represented" the 2025-26 school year.
